Privacy policy
What we collect when you book, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. What we collect
Only what a booking needs, plus what the law requires us to keep.
- 1.1Your name and phone number, so a professional knows who is coming.
- 1.2Your address, only for appointments where someone travels to you.
- 1.3Your bookings, and any reviews you write.
- 1.4Basic device and usage data, to keep the service working and secure.
2. What we never hold
Your card number, CVV and UPI PIN. Online payments happen on your UPI app or on a checkout page hosted by our payment provider — those details do not reach our servers.
We keep the amount and a reference from the provider, which cannot be used to charge you again.
3. What a professional sees
The professional you book sees your name, your phone number, the service, the time, and the address if they are coming to you. They need all of it to do the job and to reach you if something changes.
No other professional on the platform sees any of it. Messages about a booking go through Estylr, so the conversation stays on the record.
5. Where it lives
Our database is in India and our servers are in Singapore, the nearest region to it. Your data does not leave Asia in the ordinary course of running the service.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account.
- 6.1We will not delete records we are legally required to keep, and we will tell you which those are.
- 6.2You can turn off reminders and marketing messages without closing your account.
7. Consent, and taking it back
You give us this information by using the service. Where the law requires separate consent — for marketing messages, for example — we ask for it, and you can withdraw it at any time without losing access to bookings.
Withdrawing consent does not undo what we did while it was given, and it does not remove records we are required to keep.
8. How long we keep it
Your account and its bookings stay while the account is open. Ask us to close it and we remove your profile from the platform.
- 8.1Booking and payment records are kept for eight years, which is what Indian tax and accounting rules require.
- 8.2Reviews you left stay on the professional's profile — removing them would rewrite their history — but we detach them from your account.
- 8.3Anything held for a safety investigation is kept until that is finished.
- 8.4Deletion is handled by our team on request today, not by a button in the app. Write to us and we will confirm when it is done.
9. Children
Estylr is not for under-18s, and we do not knowingly hold data about them. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
10. How we protect it
Encrypted in transit and at rest, access limited by role, and administrative actions recorded. The security page explains this in more detail.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board, as the DPDP Act requires.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page changes with it.
13. Grievance Officer
Under India's Information Technology Rules and the DPDP Act, you can raise a complaint about how your data is handled with our Grievance Officer, who will acknowledge it within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
Write to the address on our contact page, marked for the Grievance Officer. If you are not satisfied with the outcome you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
